Did you hear what I heard? In Walmart…about three weeks ago…Christmas Music! It’s already begun. There’s a lot of singing about frosty snow creatures, jingling bells, deer with red noses, and roasting fires that burn chestnuts. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but where does one go to get the real Christmas story–the scandal and hope of God being born in a manger to rescue us from the tyranny of sin and death?! Here’s several God-centered, Christ-exalting CD’s for the Christmas season that are simpy fantastic.
(Don’t worry you can still sing “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch!” Just make sure you add a couple of these to your collection!)
Savior: Celebrating the Mystery of God Become Man by Sovereign Grace
$8 for the CD or $6 for download, plus free shipping! Sounds like a great gift idea. Plus we have about 4 copies left in the WBC office! This is my second favorit-est Christmas CD.

Your King Has Come by Indelible Grace
Absolutely my favorite. If it were possible to wear a CD out, I’d have done that by now to this one. A mixture of newly-arranged songs (“Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus”), traditional melodies (“O Come, O Come Emmanuel”) and a couple new songs (“Your King Has Come”)
Silent Night by Red Mountain Music
Like Indelible Grace, these guys love old, forgotten hymns. Beautiful arrangements of the best Advent hymns and Christmas carols.
Handel’s Messiah by London Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir
The classic of the classics.
What about you what are some of your favorite Christmas CDs? Feel free to comment!

One not to be missed is Andrew Peterson’s “Behold the Lamb of God.”

It’s the FULL Christmas story, starting in Egypt and ending on Calvary. I listen to it year round!
