Post-op for Tracy

Yesterday was a long but good day. Tracy and I left the house about 7:15 am, going first to her plastic surgeon, then to the hospital by 9. Blood tests, IV’s, x-rays, nuclear medicine – it was a pretty busy day. Then at 4:45 they wheeled her into the Day surgery unit, and within fifteen minutes she was whisked off to anesthesia.

The surgery lasted for more than three hours, then recovery for two more – I finally got to see her around ten pm. She got back to her room by midnight. And believe it or not, she will probably be dismissed this afternoon. I asked her if she felt she was ready and she is – we know they would give her more time if she wanted it.

The breast tissue and tumor was successfully removed, and is headed out to pathology. We won’t know any more until mid to late next week. The surgeon did test the lymph system, and in our Great God’s providence it tested positive for cancer. Because of that they harvested about ten more of the lymph nodes, and we will find out more about their condition later.

Thank you for praying for Tracy and for all of us. We had a fantastic support team with us until past 11:00 last night. And we know that so many of you were with us in spirit.
