Winter Warmth

Winter Warmth was a precious opportunity this winter to learn a new talent but more important it was a blessed time to deepen friendships and learn how God is working in each other’s lives.

This winter everyone completed an incredibly gorgeous quilted table runner/curtain. “Congratulations to each of you and praises to our Creator God!”

Laurel Jerry and Betty Riegel were our hosts and teachers.  We praise God for them opening up their homes and their lives for several weeks this winter.  Laurie shared;  “We had great camaraderie, lots of laughter, and, as we celebrated our Lord’s enabling each woman’s sewing success we realized we had also seen so many praises and answers to prayer during our times together. As we sewed and worked together, concerns and needs would just naturally arise in conversation.Just knowing one another deeper and caring for one another’s concerns and needs, led so many of us to pray over these items. We had a lot of joy realizing the great things the Lord had been doing in our everyday lives this winter. His caring and one another’s caring enriched our lives and warmed our hearts to Him and to one another.”

Laurie also shared; “For me, Winter Warmthwas pure fun…and oh so much joy. I marvel at the amazing progress and God-confidence He filled you with, as you stretched and faced the week-to-week challenges together. Your projects are not only works of art, but so are each of your lives.”

Philippians 2:12-18

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life–in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.”

So glad and so rejoicing in each of you…His “shining stars!”

Ladies who were part of this; thank you for taking part!  It was a joy to get to know you much deeper and pray for you.  Ladies of WBC watch for other similar opportunities.  If you have any ideas like this, for the Ladies Ministry, please share them with me.  You can contact me at,  Thanks again Laurel and Betty.
