Hebrews 1:1-4

This Sunday we will begin our study of the sermon to the Hebrews. For those of you who want to get ahead…

Consider

What might it be like to face persecution for your faith in a country where following Jesus is illegal?

  • What impact would it have on those you love?
  • Which of your possessions might you fear losing most?

Investigate

How did God speak in the past? How has that changed? (v. 1-2)

  • Who did he speak to then? Who has he spoken to now?
  • What do you think the phrase “these last days” means? (v.2)

Look at verses 2-4. List all that is said in these verses about who Jesus is and what he has done?

Apply

Why would it be important for a persecuted church to be pointed to this rich picture of who Jesus is?

Which of these statements would comfort you in the face of persecution?

Which of these statements would be most easily forgotten when life is easy?
