Walking it Out–The Death and Resurrection of Jesus

In week  7 of The StoryFormed Way we explored —“The Death and Resurrection of Jesus.”  We saw that Jesus is the Passover Lamb that takes away the sins of the world. He died as a substitute for us—taking our sins and punishment upon himself. He came offering forgiveness—not judgment. But we also learned that Jesus taught that people bring judgment on themselves by not obeying his teaching and commands. We talked through Jesus lordship. Jesus is Lord over: Salvation… Sin and death… Righteousness… Humanity… Everything!

  • Meditate on the fact that if you have salvation through Jesus that you also have his new life. A life that willnever end! How does/should this change your mindset and heart responses to everyday things?
  • If you have put your trust in Jesus, then your sins are forgiven. All of them. For what sins in your life—now or from your past—do you need to really begin to accept this forgiveness?
  • If you believe you’ve been forgiven by God, let him lead you to forgive others who have offended you. (“as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” Colosians 3:13)

If you missed it, you can listen here. Here’s the copy of Walking It Out Week 7.

This coming Sunday we’ll come face to face with “The Mission and Power of Jesus” from John 20, Matthew 28 ,John 14, Acts 2 , & 1 Corinthians 15:3-8.
